Drumming and Percussion for Your Show or Recording
I have been playing drums for over 20 years, and I've had the pleasure of performing in small, local venues across Ontario, in big events like Ottawa Bluesfest, and to bigger events and festivals across Canada and Europe. I've learned a lot from being on the road, from quick set-ups and tear-downs, to even quicker drum tune-ups; from playing with no mics or monitors, to communicating with engineers about getting the right sound or mix; from jamming out songs and feeling how they flow in the moment, to sitting in the pocket of a click and just letting the groove ride. I have experience in rock/pop, blues, folk and country music, both on stage and in the studio.
After my first visit to Cuba in 2009, I fell in love with the sounds and rhythms I heard outside the drum set.
I'm currently developing an understanding for Latin and Afro-Cuban percussion. This includes traditional elements of conga, timbales, bongo, shakers and more.
